A lot of Carmichael is mid-century ranch houses under big old trees, and that pairing shapes almost every plan we write there. A long single-story eave line takes lights cleanly. Heavy canopy overhead means we have to think about which trees are worth wrapping and where the cords go. If you’re thinking about Carmichael Christmas light installation this year, this is the order we work in.

Sizing a Long, Low Roofline From Your Photos

It starts with a call to (916) 570-9568. You describe the house, we ask a few questions, and the quote is free and given by phone. If the roof has a lot of corners, text us two or three photos of the front and we’ll plan from those.

On a single-story ranch, the roofline is usually one long run across the front, with a gable or two over the garage or entry. We count each section off your photos and our notes, so the right strand lengths are on the truck before install day. That’s what keeps the lines straight and the corners tight. Roofline lights go on with plastic clips on the gutter lip or tucked under the shingle edge. We skip nails and staples entirely, which matters on older wood that’s been painted over for decades.

Then we pick colors. On ranch houses, warm white along the eaves tends to suit the architecture, and multicolor in the trees keeps it cheerful. It’s your call, and we’ll tell you what we’d do.

Carmichael Christmas Light Installation, Street by Street

Most of our Carmichael work lands in a handful of neighborhoods, and we schedule them in that order.

Lincoln Oaks, on the Fair Oaks side of Carmichael, is mostly 1950s ranch homes with deep overhangs and tall palms and mulberry trees in the yards. Palm trunks take a spiral wrap well and show up from the street. Mulberries are better done on the trunk and a few lower limbs.

Carmichael Colony, between Fair Oaks Boulevard and the American River, has narrow streets and dense trees. Parking a work truck takes some thought there, so we plan the order of houses around it. Under that much canopy, a lit walkway with stake lights and a wrapped porch pillar or two often stands out more than anything on the roof.

Barrett Meadows has a lot of homes built between the 1940s and late 1960s. Houses that age often have fewer outdoor outlets, so we plan the power ahead of time and put the display on timers that switch on and off by themselves.

Casitas Manzanita is a townhome community from the early 1970s. There, we can do individual units or work with the association on shared entry lighting.

    Storefronts and Shared Entrances

Commercial work is part of the Carmichael route too. The shopping around Manzanita Avenue and Winding Way, including the Crestview Village center, is the kind of place where a lit storefront or a wrapped row of columns gets noticed by a lot of drivers. We also light HOA entrances, churches, offices, and restaurants. The details are on our commercial lighting page.

Wreaths and garland do a lot of work on commercial jobs. A lit wreath over a main entrance and garland along a railing or archway reads as finished even on a small frontage.

    If a Section Goes Dark

Sometimes a strand fails or a gust pulls a clip loose. When that happens, call (916) 570-9568 and let us know which part is out. We’re usually working nearby in Fair Oaks or Citrus Heights during the season, so a repair visit fits into the route without a special trip across town.

    The January Takedown

Once the holidays are over, the January crew takes down every piece we put up: roofline strands, tree wraps, pillar wraps, stakes, wreaths, and garland. By February your gutters are bare again, and there are no bins of lights for you to keep. We run all of this out of Folsom, and you can read more about our home area if you’re curious. Booking happens at (916) 570-9568, or send your address and the best time to reach you on the contact page.
