A house in Stock Ranch and a house off Greenback Lane can share a Citrus Heights address and still need two very different light plans. One was built in the mid-2000s on a tidy, predictable lot. The other might sit on a big, uneven parcel with a long setback and outlets in odd places. Our Citrus Heights Christmas light installation work starts by figuring out which kind of property you have. After that, it’s the same routine every time, and it runs on the phone.

Citrus Heights Christmas Light Installation, Cluster by Cluster

A crew finishes several houses on the same few streets in one day, so we book Citrus Heights in clusters that run through the middle of town, from Stock Ranch down to Arcade Creek. This is what we usually run into in each.

    Stock Ranch

Stock Ranch was built out in the mid-2000s on compact lots. The gutters are straight and in good shape, which makes for quick, even roofline runs. The catch is the narrow side yards. A side-yard photo tells us where the ladder can stand, so nothing ends up leaning on a fence or a neighbor’s AC unit.

    Greenback Wood

Greenback Wood has tree-lined streets and a mix of single-family homes and apartments. For the houses, the front elevation is usually where the effort goes: one clean roofline run, a wrap on the best tree in the yard, and stakes along the front walk. For apartment and multifamily properties, we can light an entry sign, a leasing office, or a common walkway as a small commercial job.

    Arcade Creek

Between Auburn Boulevard and the creek itself, the Arcade Creek area has settled homes, many of them single-story. Low eaves mean short ladder work and a clean roofline, and that leaves room in the plan for extra touches like pillar wraps on the porch.

    Sylvan Old Auburn Road

The older houses off Old Auburn Road tend to have fascia that’s been repainted many times and one outlet on the porch. A modest warm-white roofline, a wreath on the garage and a few branches wrapped on a front-yard tree is usually the right amount there, and it keeps the load on that one outlet reasonable.

    Woodside Oaks

Woodside Oaks backs onto the Woodside Oaks and Olivine open space, and the streets are lined with trees that went in with the houses. The trees are the main event. Mature trunks take a good spiral wrap, and on smaller ornamental trees we run lights out along the branches too. We’ll tell you on the call which of your trees are worth doing and which ones would just eat up strands.

What We Ask on the First Call

The first step is a phone call to (916) 570-9568, and the quote comes free on that same call. We go through the same list with every house so nothing gets skipped.

    • Which edges of the roof you want outlined, and whether any gables sit over the garage or entry.
    • Which trees you’re thinking about, how thick the trunks are, and what kind they are.
    • Where your outdoor outlets are, and whether one of them shares a circuit with the garage.
    • Whether the lawn has sprinklers along the walk, so we bring the right stakes.
    • What colors you want and what time the timer should shut things off.

If anything is hard to describe, text us a picture or two taken from the sidewalk. That’s enough for us to prep the lights before install day.

Clips, Colors, and the Small Decisions

We attach roofline lights with plastic clips that grip the gutter lip or slide under the shingle edge. No nails, no staples, and nothing that leaves holes when the lights come down. On composition shingle, the clips tuck under the bottom course. If you have a tile roof, we use clips made for tile so we’re not lifting or stressing the tiles.

For colors, most people go all warm white, all color, or white on the house with color in the trees and bushes. Any of those works. We just want it to look planned, so we keep the colors consistent within each part of the display.

Pillar and column wraps follow the same color as the roofline in most cases. Garland goes on entries, railings, and archways, and wreaths get lit and hung where you can see them from the street. If you’d like more detail on the walkway side, our stake lighting page walks through spacing and layout.

How Citrus Heights Fits Our Route

Citrus Heights sits between a lot of our other stops, so it’s easy to schedule. Jobs on the north side often run the same week as our Roseville work, and the southern neighborhoods pair well with Carmichael and Fair Oaks. Because of that grouping, you can usually get a specific install window when you book instead of a vague “sometime in November.”

    Repairs, Then the January Pickup

If a strand fails or a section flickers after a storm, call (916) 570-9568. We’ll add you to the next repair stop in your part of town and get it working again.

Then in January, we come back for the takedown. Every clip, strand, wrap, and stake comes off, and we take it all with us. There’s nothing left on the roof through spring and nothing for you to store. To get on this year’s calendar, call (916) 570-9568. Email works too: use the contact form, attach a street-side picture of the house if you have one, and we’ll call to go over the estimate.
